Make $500 in 15 days

I have just downloaded and watched Alex Malave’s “$500 in 15 days” e-course, and I must say that it is the most comprehensive “start from scratch” course I have ever seen. In fact I like it so much I’m going to join as an affiliate, which is rare for me, as I only affiliate with products which give true value for money.

Alex has obviously targeted complete newcomers to the internet marketing scene, as the course goes through such tasks as registering a domain, setting up hosting, signing up on Clickbank etc. The videos are clear and concise, and it is very easy to follow along.

Seasoned marketers will not get too much that they don’t already know, but I must say I got something out of it, especially the video on setting up an Adwords campaign, which is something I have avoided like the plague, as I knew I didn’t know enough about it. Having watched Alex’s video, I now feel a lot more confident about starting up an Adwords campaign.

I especially liked the concept of making the goal of earning $500 in 15 days eminently achievable. By not promising a six figure income overnight, like so many other marketers, he has started with a modest goal which anyone could conceive as being entirely possible for them to achieve, even starting from scratch.

Alex has a simple formula for success – keep doing the simple things right, with the emphasis on the “doing”. No-one ever achieved anything by not taking action.

With this course, you have an inbuilt action plan: on Day 1, do this, on Day 2 do that, and so on.

Alex has a generous guarantee with this course, that if you implement his instructions, and most importantly keep on doing them day after day, you will make money, or he will give you your money back.

Having watched the course in its entirety, I can honestly say that if anyone follows the instructions and actions diligently enough, there is little chance of Alex having to ever honour his guarantee.

Finally, I like his incentive tip, which is one I use myself. This is to tell your spouse, friends and relations what you are doing. Then, if you do not take any action, you will be too ashamed to admit to them that you actually didn’t follow through with it.

I encourage any would-be internet marketer to buy the $500 in 15 days course, do what Alex tells you to do, and you can definitely have the success you are seeking.

5 Reasons Why Blogging is a great Internet Marketing Tool

Blogging used to be a way to comment on an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors give their opinion on the site. What started as just a simple comment has evolved into pages of personal take on every possible subject. As blogging continues to move forward, advertising has realised the blog’s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging gives you the real picture. In this day and age where advertising saturates our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share real experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free. The two major templates for blogs are Blogger and Wordpress, both free.

4. Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you are perceived as an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

5. Blogging builds your market. Usually, only your Mom reads your posts. But Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:

-By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

-By using subscription. An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

-By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Can Affirmations Really Attract Money?

There have been many self help books which work on this theory. Even Martin Luther King worked on the theory that the body will follow where the mind leads. Being a negro, he had to sit at the back of the bus, but visualised himself sitting in the front seat. Thus were born the seeds of the civil rights movement. Affirmations would therefore seem to be effective if applied diligently enough.

As an example, if your desire is to have enough money to fill your needs, use this affirmation: "I always have plenty of money to meet everything I need." And repeat it several times. Be still, while visualizing that abundance, and feeling how it feels to already have the amount of money you desire. Feel as though it has already happened and that all your needs are now satisfied. Now be receptive to all the ways by which you will have money flow into your life.

Here is a list of affirmations you can use:

* I am now ready to receive.
* I have whatever I need.
* All my needs are being met.
* I now give and receive freely.
* This is a rich universe and there is plenty for all.
* Money comes to me easily and effortlessly.
* I am always supplied with whatever I need.
* I look forward to an expectancy of good things.
* My greatest good is coming to me NOW.

It is crucial that you really believe in these affirmations otherwise they will fail to reach deep enough to unlock the powers of your subconscious mind.

Do You Need a License?

Did you know that there are lots of home businesses that are very strictly regulated by the government? Unfortunately the busybodies of government bureaucracy have invaded every facet of our lives, so the array of money making opporunities working from home are somewhat diminished.

One lady who was a good baker thought she would sell some biscuits from her house. Of course, that didn't last long after the health inspector heard about it.

So, if you think you've got an idea that’s going to make a bit of money, there could be a reason why someone else isn't doing it and that reason could be related to some regulation.

In the example above, if you are going to sell food, you will need a license and register for hygiene and safety inspections, not to mention health and safety issues. Most local government agencies are especially strict if you plan to handle food. On the other hand, food licenses aren't that hard to get as long as you are willing to have your kitchen and products regularly inspected.

An at home day-care centre also needs a license, and you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get one. There’s always a shortage of in home childcare providers it’s because it’s just too hard to keep up with all the rules.

If you want to try gambling and alcohol, forget them. You will never get a licence.

Anything medical will obviously does need a license. You don’t want unqualified people providing these services from home. Of course, if you've previously been a doctor or dentist, and want to semi-retire, then it shouldn’t be too hard to get a licence to work from home.

I think hairdressing from home should be O.K. as long as your neighbourhood isn’t disrupted by too many cars outside your house. You will have to check the local by-laws.

This list just covers some of the most common businesses that need licensing. The best idea is to check your local laws and make sure your home business is properly licensed.

How you can avoid home business scams

99% of the work-at-home offers out there are scams. If it was that easy to make money from home, wouldn't everyone be doing it by now? Here are some common scams – how to recognize them, and how not to get sucked in by them.

Where did you see the offer? If you got it in your email, I can guarantee it’s not a legitimate offer. Assume that any offer is a scam until you’ve proved otherwise.

Stuffing envelopes is one of the more common home scams. The way it works is that you pay money to sign up and you get a set of envelopes and ads just like the one to which you responded. Then you stuff your envelopes and pay again to send them out on the off chance that someone will respond to your ad.

Quick tip: If anyone asks for money up front, that’s a real sign that a scam is in progress. A real company should be willing to deduct money from your income if they are that confident that you will make money. If they won't do that, then it’s pretty obvious that they don't ever plan to pay you.

There are lots of money making opportunities like work from home scams that would have you believe that they have more work than they can handle themselves, so they need extra help, like people to work from home. What happens is that you will be told that the work involves the typing of documents such as medical bills into your computer. These scams all work the same. They say that all you need is your computer, but then say that you need to buy their “special software” to do the job, which is the way the scam company makes money from you.

If a home business opportunity involves you working for someone else, it’s probably a scam. You don't know who you're dealing with.

You won't make anywhere near as much money as you can with running your own home business.

Have you been scammed? Leave a comment on what happened to you.

Choosing a url for your site

One of the most important things your site needs is a good url. It should be such a name that people will know what the site is about, just from the url, and if possible it should be something that your target market will easily remember.

For example, my url is http://www.money-makingopportunities.com

Unfortunately, good urls like that are long gone, so you have to be creative.

You could use your last name followed by what the site is about, such as in my case www.phillipsinternetresource.com or www.phillipsplumbing.com. You could also add the city where you live like www.canberrablogspot.com.

This will help you target your local area.

You could to name your site after an animal, if the name is not already taken and as long as it is a cute and cuddly one. Make sure you use that animal in your logo as well. It’s one way of branding your business.

The short names will all be taken so you might have to take two or three words and make an acronym. So you end up with ISOB (International Site of Business). As an example, my site on hyperthyroidism, which no-one would ever remember, became
www.hy-po.com.

As a last resort, just make up a name. Car manufacturers do it all the time – look at the Hyundai Getz – what’s a getz? Just play around with your words, mis-spell them until you come up with a name that sounds good and the bonus is that it will be completely unique to your business.

If your domain name is taken, try the “info” or “net” suffix. For instance, for my “one hour expert” site, www.onehourexpert.com was taken, so I had to use www.onehourexpert.info instead.

Why Start a Home Business?

Working from home and giving up a job is a big dream for many, but fear of failure holds us back. So here are a few good reasons why starting a home business is a great idea.

You have a great business idea which you feel will be a success. This has to be the biggest reason why most people start up a home business. If your ideas are good enough, they can start bringing in an income very quickly.

You can do something you want to do. Most people would love to get paid for something they love doing.

You get to be your own boss. No more helping someone else get rich. You stand or fall on your own talents.

You get more family friendly time. Working from home means you can be home on weekends, family events or holidays. You can spend time with your kids.

You do away with the daily grind of commuting. Think of the time and money you save by working from home!

These reasons should be enough to say “I am ready to start my own home business”.

6 rules for success in life

1. Make your dreams your own, not what other people may want for you.

2. Believe completely in your own talents.

Things that may make you falter in that belief:

• Nothing is happening: This just means that it hasn't happened yet.In my old Amway days they used to reach that every "no" is one step closer to a "yes". Imagine if Susan Boyle had given up after years of trying to make it.
• No support from others: People's attitudes are governed by the values of people around them. Surround yourself with successful people, either in person or by way of the internet, and some of their success will rub off on you.

3. Do something every day which will edge you closer to achieving your dreams.

4. Try to learn something new every day.

5. EFeel well in yourself by having a healthy diet and exercise. With regard to exercise find something you like doing and someone to do it with.

6. Be happy in your own life by making someone else's day a litle better.Even a simple "great to see you" is uplifting both for you and the recipient.

How To Find A Market That Makes You Money

The most common mistake made by new internet marketers is thinking of selling a product without first determining if a market exists. Why is this such a mistake? It’s a mistake because if there is no demand, there is no-one to buy the product, and the project is doomed before it starts.

So the first thing to consider when coming up with a viable product is to see if there is a profitable market.

Although this may sound a difficult task, it’s actually not that hard to do. The first thing you need is an idea for a product which can come to you at any time, like while watching T.V. or reading the morning newspaper .If your mind is trained to look out for ideas, they are everywhere.

I always carry a small notebook with me, so that whenever think of an idea, I write it down so that I don’t forget it the next day. A personal digital assistant (PDA) would work just as well, but I prefer the old notebook and pencil.

So how do you know if an idea you think will make a profitable product?

Don’t think of a vague idea like “weight loss”. If that’s your field, break it down into a niche market, like “weight control for ladies over 40”

Now you have an idea you have to see if it will be profitable. For this, you need a keyword research tool. I use micronichefinder, it's the best one I've seen so far.

There are several around, but for now just use the Google keyword research tool, which is free and can be found at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Simply type in a keyword or phrase, and press the “get keyword ideas” button. You will then get a list of keywords and key phrases that are related to the subject you have entered. Each keyword or key phrase has an indication of how many searches have been made for those keywords. This gives you some idea of your keyword’s popularity, how many searches were done for that exact keyword. You are of course looking for a keyword or keyword phrase that has had lots of searches. Write down the number of searches.

Unfortunately keyword popularity is only half the battle. You also need to find out the competition which exists for that particular keyword. To do this, go to Google and do a search on the selected keyword or key phrase. See how many web pages there are on that subject. If this number is less than the number of searches you wrote down, then you could be on a winner!

Once you have found such a niche, if you’re not familiar with it, do some research. Find articles and forums which cater to your subject. Build a website which provides accurate and interesting information about the subject. Then apply your marketing strategies to give it exposure to the marketplace.

You just have to find that niche. The sooner you find one, the sooner your bank balance will expand.

Overdoing your keywords in your articles

You can over-optimise your articles for your keywords, commonly called “keyword stuffing”. When too many keywords are placed in an article the SE spiders will know that you are just trying to trick them into placing your article high in the rankings for that keyword, and will penalize your page for doing so. Too much keyword stuffing can affect the rankings of your other pages and even get your site blacklisted by a particular search engine.

Build your list the right way

You need to understand three things about building a list before you start building your own list:

1. W.I.I.M. (What’s in it for me?) Every site visitor faced with an opt-in page asks him/herself this question. Are they going to give out their information only to be spammed with marketing offers? You must offer them something of VALUE in order to get their information, even if it’s just a 7 page report. You don’t expect a sales person to give you something you want, you have to pay for it. It is the same with list building. You must pay for the prospect’s email by giving out some kind of valuable free information.

2. Don’t overdo your sales pitches: Once you have the contact information, do not abuse it! This is where so many new marketers make their mistake. If you are trying to build trust with your list, don’t abuse that trust by sending them sales pitches every day, or they will soon hit that “unsubscribe” button. Continue to offer good value and you will create a loyal following.

3. J.V.: One of the most overlooked ways to make money with a list is by joint venturing with others in the same niche, but not direct competitors. If you have a list of people who came from your camping site, you could partner with someone who sells camp stoves, for instance. You could each offer a great deal on a product (or a free report) to each other’s list. This gives you the ability to vastly increase your list!

Easy Ways To Build Your Own Profitable Opt In List

I hope by now you have at last got the message; you won’t get anywhere without an opt-in list. You’ve read numerous articles and read so many success stories of other people (never you!) creating a fortune with opt-in lists that you finally accept that you will have to get one of your own. Then the usual thing happens, after all you’ve read and digested about creating opt-in lists, and having followed all the expert advice to the letter you still can’t seem to make a profit.

To add insult to injury, you are probably losing money. You may have hired ghost writers at $50 a time, or incurred some other expenses. Even if you have managed to get a big list, only a very small percentage of your list will ever actually buy something from you, so you’re still losing money. You’ll soon realize that very quickly when you see your income and expense figures.

So what did you do wrong? Why do others always seem to succeed and you always seem to fail? The most common mistake people make is that they dive in straight away, with no planning. You choose a niche which from your keyword research seems to be quite popular and which looks likely to earn you some money. It doesn’t always follow. Just because you emailed people in your list doesn’t mean they are all going to instantly take you up on your very fair offer.

But don’t give up quite yet, for those who have started an opt-in list but are still not making any money. You can resurrect your doomed venture.

Here are three quick and easy ways to build a profitable opt-in list.

1) First, get your customers to trust you and your products. Write some articles first, to establish your credibility in your chosen niche before you start to think about getting your opt-in list. Write about the topic you have chosen, and put in the links back to your site. Post in forums specific to your sphere of knowledge first to gain insight about what members want, and then and target those needs. Look for posts like “How do I…..”

Join other forums as well. Provide lots of help and suggestions. Don’t blatantly advertise your site, or affiliate programs, just have a discreet link in your signature. Remember the search engines will pick up these links, which will help your site PR. When you feel that people trust you by the replies to your posts, then you will be able to start your opt-in list. You can build your base with other forum users, especially if you are seen to have been helping others. You can ask them to join your list, but it would be better to give them some incentives, like free stuff, or half price software.

The fact of the matter is that the cash will only flow when the customers and subscribers believe you and trust you. They want a product or service that is seen as being good value. They won’t buy something just based on your reputation, value for money is still their prime consideration .

2) Find a product or service that people want and think they need. Although you may not have known anything about the product when you started, if you provide a service or a product that you have researched well, you can have the confidence to sell it.

While it is true that you should sell something that you have interest in, it is also true that there may not be many people who are as interested as you, especially if you decide to sell something that is not popular. This is where your keyword research will pay off. If you have done your research well, you will know that there is a need for your product, and you should see the profits start to roll in. You should also provide your subscribers with promotional material like banners and text links that they can use and spread the word around. You then ask them to join your list by asking them if they wish to keep up with all your future products.

3) Make friends with other users of opt-in lists. This is really beneficial, especially if it is someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list. Ask them for their advice, what would they do differently now. While there are many articles available for you on the internet, you can’t beat getting a first hand account from someone who has already been there and done it.

While different situations may occur for different people, the general concept still applies. There are many pitfalls to avoid and these people should be able to tell you what they are. This is your work on building relationships and helping others in forums will start to pay off.

Building a profitable opt-in list won’t happen overnight. There are many plans to make, and a fair bit of work and to do. You must offer people an incentive to sign up to your list, and also make a promise that they will not get bombarded with sales letters. You need to maintain the quality of your list, by periodically weeding out the dead end email addresses. Keep your list organized and manageable, and make sure that your subscribers are happy and satisfied.

Blog design is important

Blogs have now overtaken static web sites in popularity. Blogs originally started as a platform for people to put down their thoughts and what they were doing at the time, a sort of public diary. Then companies started to use blogs as a means of informing their customers on product updates.

Now, blogs have become mainstream, and an essential part of internet marketing. This is because setting up a blog is so much easier than setting up a static web site. Applications like Wordpress mean that knowledge of HTML is not required, and site designs and content are now easy to install, with the advent of themes and widgets.

Because blogs are more dynamic than sites, people will keep returning, if the blog is interesting enough. If the webmaster never updates his site there is no incentive for a visitor to return.

If a blog gets a steady following, they provide a great way of marketing a product, and an income from ads placed on the blog, such as Adsense and other companies’ ads.

You can increase your blog traffic by joining affiliate programs and site directories, which will list your blog in a certain category. You can also put relevant comments on popular blogs, always including a link back to your own blog in your signature.

You can get people to keep coming back to your blog by having continually changing interesting or amusing content, together with a good layout and design. If you don’t write your own content you can download other peoples’ articles and publish them on your own blog, as long as you keep the original author’s bio box intact.

The blog's layout and design are almost as important as the content. Your blog has to remain attractive enough that your blog will stand out from the millions of other blogs using free standard templates.

* Get a custom header

You will see a lot of blogs with generic designs downloaded from sites which give away free header templates.

You should personalize your own header by having distinctive graphics or logos. If you know Photoshop or Gimp you can edit the free graphics so that they become exclusive to your blog. You can also get professional looking graphics done for you if you do a search online.

* Use your own photos

People love seeing pictures. A photo of you makes the blog appear more human and friendly.

* Include RSS feeds in your blog.

These let your followers know that there is a new posting on your blog. Tutorials on how to set up RSS feeds are available everywhere on the net.

* Add audio

Audio personalizes your blog; and if it changes, it can keep your visitors coming back. Just make sure that the audio doesn’t start automatically. People may be reading your blog at work and forget that they have the volume turned up. If you can’t record an audio track of yourself you could try streaming radio stations, or a favourite mp3 file. Just don’t make it too intrusive – you want people reading your blog, not listening to music.

If you use these tips, keep your content ever changing and relevant, and you get some traffic, you should definitely have a popular blog, one that stands out from all the others.
